Mission and Bylaws

Founded in 1926, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists (GLAO) is one of eight constituent organizations that comprise the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). GLAO has more than 1,300 members in four states and one Canadian province.

The Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, a constituent of the American Association of Orthodontists,
shall advocate on behalf of its members and promote the advancement of the Specialty of Orthodontics.

The GLAO geographic area includes the component orthodontic associations of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania (west of the Alleghenies) and the Canadian province of Ontario.

PROPOSED BYLAWS AMENDMENTS


Members will have an opportunity to discuss or testify regarding proposed BYLAWS amendments at the GLAO Annual Member Business Meeting on Saturday, September 14, 2019, 7:30am-8:15am at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  A Vote on these proposed BYLAWS amendments will take place at that time.  Note:  "BYLAWS may be amended at any session of the General Assembly by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the legal votes cast."  CLICK HERE to view the complete GLAO Bylaws (the proposed amendments can be found on pages 9, 10, 11 and 13.)
